Industrial emission reduction

Effective reduction of NOx and SOx emissions for modern industry

Tightening European BAT/BREF standards and the IED directive require heating plants and industrial sources to cut nitrogen and sulphur oxides without compromise. Our certified solutions and sorbents deliver high flue gas cleaning efficiency at the lowest operating cost.

Power plant stacks with a flue gas plume

SCR / SNCR

NOx Emission Reduction (DeNOx)

By injecting urea solutions (AUS 32, AUS 40) or ammonia water into the flue gas stream, harmful nitrogen oxides (NO and NO₂) are converted into harmless nitrogen gas (N₂) and water vapor (H₂O).

  • Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) efficiency up to 95%
  • Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) efficiency 60 – 80%
  • Compliance with strict BAT/BREF limits and IED directive
  • Minimization of unwanted ammonia slip
Flue Gas Desulfurization

SOx Emission Reduction (DeSOx)

The application of highly efficient sorbents (sodium bicarbonate, hydrated lime) and special additives binds sulfur dioxide (SO₂) and sulfur trioxide (SO₃) before release into the atmosphere.

  • Reduction of SO₂ emissions by more than 85 – 95%
  • Protection of boilers, flues and heat exchangers against acid corrosion
  • Reduction of gypsum deposits and fouling
  • Optimized sorbent dosing according to sulfur content in fuel
Economic Benefit

Savings on Emission Allowances

By reducing NOx and SOx production, you significantly reduce statutory air pollution fees and save hundreds of thousands of euros on purchasing emission allowances and environmental penalties.

  • Direct reduction of air pollution fees
  • Prevention of fines from the Environmental Inspectorate
  • Increase in environmental rating (ESG reporting)
  • Fast ROI into the right reagent
Technological principle

How does chemical reduction in flue gas work?

We use proven chemical reduction and absorption processes that turn hazardous gaseous pollutants into natural components of the atmosphere, with no secondary waste.

DeNOx: Selective catalytic / non-catalytic reductionSCR / SNCR

4 NO + 2 (NH₂)₂CO + O₂ → 4 N₂ + 4 H₂O + 2 CO₂

Urea or ammonia reacts with nitrogen oxides, producing harmless nitrogen gas (N₂) and pure water vapour (H₂O).

DeSOx: Dry and semi-dry desulfurizationSorbents

2 NaHCO₃ + SO₂ + ½ O₂ → Na₂SO₄ + 2 CO₂ + H₂O

The sorbent neutralises sulphur dioxide (SO₂) and binds acidic components into dry sulphate salts captured on the fabric filter.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about supplies and emissions

Do you have a technical question about dosing, switching from urea to ammonia, or legislative requirements? We are ready to provide a free consultation.

How do reducing agents reduce NOx and SOx emissions?

During NOx reduction (DeNOx), a urea solution or ammonia water is injected into the flue gas. In reaction with NOx, harmless nitrogen (N₂) and water vapor (H₂O) are formed. When reducing SOx (DeSOx), special sorbents (sodium bicarbonate or hydrated lime) are dosed into the flue to chemically neutralize acidic sulfur oxides (SO₂ and SO₃) into solid salts catchable by a filter.

How much can we save on emission fees and allowances?

In accordance with the valid air protection and pollution fees legislation, every ton of NOx and SO₂ emissions is subject to fees and strict penalties. By reducing emissions by tens to hundreds of tons per year, savings on fees and quotas reach tens to hundreds of thousands of euros, which more than covers the costs of the reagent itself.

What is the difference between urea solution (AUS 32 / AUS 40) and ammonia water?

Both products supply the ammonia needed for the reaction. Urea solutions are extremely safe to handle and are not subject to ADR. AUS 40 is more concentrated than AUS 32 and saves transport costs. Ammonia water (24.5% NH₃) has immediate reactivity and a lower purchase price per unit of active substance, but is transported and handled under the strict ADR regime (UN 2672).

Do we need our own storage facility?

No, you do not need any intermediate storage. We deliver reagents in Just-In-Time mode by tank trucks directly to your stationary operational tanks, or in IBC containers directly to the point of consumption. Thanks to our dispatching and level monitoring capabilities, we ensure that you always have a supply in a safe operational range.

What minimum and maximum volumes can you deliver?

We deliver from single IBC containers (1,000 liters) to complete tank sets (25 to 30 tons) and regular annual volumes in thousands of tons. Thanks to optimized routes, we can flexibly serve smaller cogeneration units as well as large heating plants.

How fast can you react in case of emergency reagent need?

Thanks to the 24/7 dispatch and a fleet of dedicated tankers, we are able to make an emergency delivery for our contractual partners usually within 24 hours of reporting, so that emission limits are not exceeded.
